Environment One’s semi-positive displacement, progressing cavity pump has a nearly vertical H-Q curve. It is by far the most “forgiving” pump design – providing predictable flow over the full range of typical system pressures; strengths critical in a large-scale, low-pressure sewer.

The Upgrade grinder pump is engineered to fit into virtually any grinder pump wetwell. Universal design allows easy drop-in conversion, ready to connect. The Upgrade is a complete replacement for all of the troublesome components of a centrifugal pump station, including the old unit’s slide rails, pump/moptor, float switches, piping, and motor control devices.

The Upgrade comes complete with a self-contained level control system, eliminating troublesome float switches. The internal check valve assembly located on the grinder pump is custom designed for non-clog, trouble-free operation. The Upgrade uses E/One’s “hardwired,” or “wired,” pump model where a cable connects the motor controls to the level controls through watertight penetrations.

Other Grinder Pump
Centrifugal pumps – flows vary dramatically, causing high flows and dangerously short run times to no flow and continuous operation. The result: burned-out motors.
Jamming common – high-speed, low-torque, with a small-diameter inlet.
Float switches – require preventive maintenance to remove grease and oil. A constant source of problems. Mercury float switches difficult to dispose of are an environmental issue.
